Enchanting Show Fountain Debuts at Phase II Grand Opening of Lifestyle Development in Riverton, Utah

At the recent grand opening of the second phase of Mountain View Village, an 85-acre lifestyle development in Riverton, Utah, owner CenterCal Properties, LLC welcomed guests to gather at a newly constructed, revolutionary show fountain, designed and constructed by OTL.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, the fountain’s spectacular choreographed water, audio, and light shows create an engaging focal point for the destination. When Architects Orange called upon us to assist in creating the Phase II show fountain, our team was eager to help establish Mountain View Village as a top gathering place in Riverton. Working with their team of architects, landscape architects and engineers, we solved numerous challenges with regard to space limitations, materials selection, and serviceability.

The show fountain displays engineering and construction prowess at its finest as the OTL team applied a novel approach to advanced technology and architectural design that integrates the fountain shows with G-Glass on the side of a building. The newly developed technology mirrors the water’s choreographic effects in a completely fresh way as compared to previously constructed show fountains. Energy-efficient LED color-changing lighting and professionally crafted and choreographed musical shows are among the highlighted technological aspects of this new water feature.

Constructed to create a visual counterbalance of architectural and natural elements, the fountain artfully combines the themes of nature and modernization to express the beauty of Utah’s mountainous geography in cohesion with the theme of investment toward the future. As the shows start, guests will notice that the theme extends out past the edges of the fountain. The landscape (tree) lighting and the entire façade of the adjacent building housing a Sephora retail outlet have their own programmed sequences of light and video that have been crafted to march in alliance with OTL’s show fountain choreography. The result is a new show experience that is no longer defined by the physical boundary of the water itself.

The groundbreaking water feature adds another aspect of integration across Mountain View Village, which is a mecca of engagement and entertainment. Including a market hall-style pavilion, 14-screen Cinemark movie theater complex, and a variety of retail, restaurant, and commercial spaces, the lifestyle center is energetic and interactive. Amongst all these outstanding spaces within the destination, the fountain is a unique centerpiece and the perfect gathering space for guests.

Mountain View Village’s second phase follows the completion of Phase I, which includes a majestic fountain delivered by OTL. The water feature showcases a 13-foot bronze American Eagle Sculpture—conceived by CenterCal Properties’ chairman and founder Fred Bruning and nationally renowned Northern California native artist Brian Keith—which pays homage to the men and women serving in Riverton’s fire department, police department, and local National Guard. OTL was grateful for the opportunity to help honor local heroes within the community through this project.

In addition to recognizing impactful members of local neighborhoods, OTL strives to integrate the community through its projects. By generating buzz for tenants and creating unique attractions, we apply our expertise to activate public spaces.

Located at 4500 West 13400 South in Riverton, Utah, the officially opened second phase of Mountain View Village is galvanizing the local community, and the innovative show fountain OTL completed adds to the palpable energy of entertainment and activity within the center.
