Team Spotlight: Getting to Know Chip Beyt, Strategic Partnerships

Posted in Insights -

Developing strategic partnerships for a firm that creates destination-defining experiences requires a clear understanding of the design-build process and the ability to communicate how the firm can best serve its clients. A licensed landscape architect, Chip Beyt joined OTL in October 2025 to focus on client relationships and strategic growth. Since, he has quickly become a deeply valued member of our team. Adept at communicating OTL’s unique capabilities across a broad spectrum of industry professionals, Chip wears many hats including account management, creative concepting, project consulting, and more. He anticipates customers’ needs, enabling OTL to create the experiences clients envision, and enjoys seeking out new partners and projects for us. We spoke with Chip about joining OTL and his goals at the company.

What attracted you to OTL?

I became a landscape architect to create cool outdoor spaces for people to hang out in. I diversified my professional experience by working in a variety of positions throughout the industry and discovered my strongest skillset and what I enjoy most is building relationships with designers and assisting them with specialized scopes. OTL’s work brings contemporary landscape architecture to a whole new level by adding an experiential layer, which can make outdoor spaces way, way cooler.

What do you like about being on the OTL team?

The tenure of Wick, Jack and Tom, really everyone at OTL, is impressive. They have been in the industry a long time, have built a lot of projects that provide incredible experiences for so many people. I like that I get to learn from them about this field and how great projects are built. The firms this company works with are the best in the country, and these clients seek out OTL because we’re the best at what we do.

What is a fun fact that people may not know about you?

While I was attending LSU, I interned in Costa Rica and turned into a surf rat. I love to surf. I also got the travel bug during my time at LSU thanks to Max Conrad and was able to visit landscape architecture firms all over the world. Designers at these firms were always excited to share their work with us, and these experiences are probably why I do what I do today.

What are you excited about accomplishing with OTL?

Assisting in the creation of really cool outdoor spaces for people to hang out in, all of the dialogue and discovery that will happen along the way, and seeing what we can do to progress experiential design, sustainability, and the human experience in the projects we’re involved in.
