The newly-renovated Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain at the Civic Park in Los Angeles, California will be a site to see when the park opens to the public later this year. The groundwork for the Civic Park project started in 2010, turning Civic Park into part of a $56-million renovation project designed to bring a community atmosphere to downtown Los Angeles and make the city greener and easier to use.

Outside the Lines’ team of water feature designers and specialty construction practitioners were called upon to help turn the historic Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain into an interactive water feature with illuminated cascading jets that rise and fall playfully into the new shallow pool.

According to Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Supervisor of the Third District, “it’s the fountain—with its new prominence and engaging interactive features—that promises to be one of the park’s biggest draws.”
